Blog 2 TRANSANTIAGO: BEFORE AND AFTER

a) I don’t know the old system of buses in Santiago, because I was in another city. But I saw the news saying that the pre-transantiago system had a lot of bad things, for example, the drivers of the buses usually were competing for taking passengers, producing a lot of accidents. Also in this competition, the drivers didn’t left the students arrived to the bus, because they pay less than the regular users.
Another problem was the enormous contamination emanated by the old buses, now the government says that Transantiago system is more ecofriendly that the old one.
Finally, another problem was the bad condition of the old buses.
b) When the system began, it was totally collapsed because the people didn’t have information about the buses that they had to take. Also the amount of buses circulating was smaller. Now I have to say that the system is settled, the people knows about the buses, and the government put on circulation more.
c) As I said in class, I would implement air conditioned system in the subway, because in summer, in peak hours, is a living hell. I also want to implement more frequencies for the buses, because in some places you have to wait a lot for one bus.
